The idea
LetsNow is for saying what you actually think about the place you live. It doesn’t have to be nice, polished, or agreeable. It does have to stay on the right side of the lines below.
Not allowed
- Harassment or targeted abuse — going after a person or a group.
- Hate speech — attacks or slurs based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
- Threats or cheering on violence.
- Anything sexual involving minors. Zero tolerance. Reported to the authorities, instant ban.
- Doxxing — posting someone’s private or identifying information.
- Spam and scams — junk, phishing, fake links, vote manipulation, bots.
- Illegal content or activity, or ripping off someone else’s work.
- Impersonation and ban evasion — pretending to be someone else, or making a new account to get around a ban or a limit.
How enforcement works
- Downvote what’s bad. Bad takes sink on their own.
- Block anyone you don’t want to see or hear from.
- Report anything that crosses a line. A post or reply is automatically hidden once three different people report it, pending review.
- Moderators can hide, delete, and ban. A ban stops you posting, replying, voting, and messaging — on the whole account.
Borderline stuff
Things that are obnoxious but not against the rules get downvoted into the ground. That’s the design — the community sorts most of it out.
