Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information LetsNow collects, why, who it’s shared with, how long it’s kept, and the choices you have. LetsNow is an anonymous, location-based social app. We try to collect as little as possible.
Contents
1. The short version
- We ask for an email and password to create your account. The email is used for sign-in, account recovery, and service notices — not marketing.
- You are anonymous. You get a generated alias like The-Wandering-Goblin-482. There is no profile, display name, or real name unless you are a paying subscriber and choose to set one.
- The app asks for “when in use” location. Coordinates are rounded to a rough neighborhood before they are stored, are used to build a nearby feed, are never shown on a map, and are never shared with other users as coordinates.
- We use a small number of service providers (Supabase, Expo, Stripe, Apple, Google) to run the app. We do not sell your data and there are no advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.
- Free-tier posts are automatically deleted after 30 days unless a paid user “saves” one by replying to or voting on it. Safety and moderation records are kept longer.
- You can delete your account and your content from inside the app at any time.
2. Who we are
LetsNow is operated by OmniWeb LLC (“LetsNow”, “we”, “us”), 10077 Bantry Ln, Forney, TX, USA. For privacy and data questions, contactprivacy@omniweb.tech. General support is atletsnow@omniweb.tech.
3. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account email. Required to sign up. We send a confirmation email and use the address for sign-in, account recovery, and important service notices.
- Password. Stored only as a salted hash by our authentication provider; we never see it in plain text.
- Content you create. Posts (text, up to 300 characters), replies, and up/down votes. For paying subscribers: photo attachments and 1:1 direct messages.
- Custom display name (paid only). If you set one, it replaces your alias to other users. It reverts to your generated alias if your subscription ends.
- Support messages. When you contact us — including from inside the app — we receive your message and, for in-app reports, your app version and basic device info (operating system and model) added to the email body. In-app support messages do not include your location or the content of your posts.
Information collected automatically
- Approximate location. If you grant location permission, the app reads your device location while you are using it, rounds it to roughly three decimal places (a rough neighborhood) before storing it, and uses it to build your nearby feed and to tag new posts with an approximate area. See section 5.
- Subscription status. If you subscribe to LetsNow Pro, our payment processor (Stripe) handles the payment. We store a Stripe customer identifier and your subscription status only — we never receive or store card numbers.
- Push notification token. A device token used to deliver push notifications. It is deleted when you sign out.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps minimal technical logs (such as timestamps and request metadata) needed to run and secure the service.
We do not import your contacts, and there is no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or third-party tracker in the app.
4. Why we use it, and our legal bases
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, the legal basis for each use is noted in parentheses.
- Run your account — create it, authenticate you, recover access, send service notices. (Performance of a contract.)
- Show you a local feed and let you post, reply, and vote. (Performance of a contract.)
- Tag posts with an approximate area and build the nearby feed from your rounded location. (Consent for accessing device location; performance of a contract for the feature itself.)
- Deliver push notifications. (Consent, via your device permission.)
- Keep the community safe — process reports, blocks, and downvotes; auto-hide reported content; investigate abuse; enforce bans. (Legitimate interests in a safe service; legal obligation where applicable.)
- Take payment for LetsNow Pro and manage your subscription. (Performance of a contract.)
- Show first-party house ads to free accounts. These are our own promotions, not a third-party ad network, and involve no ad tracking. (Legitimate interests in funding a free tier.)
- Secure the service and prevent fraud and abuse. (Legitimate interests; legal obligation where applicable.)
- Respond to support requests. (Legitimate interests; performance of a contract.)
- Comply with the law and respond to lawful requests. (Legal obligation.)
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time (see section 9).
5. Location, specifically
- The app requests “when in use” location permission. It does not track your location in the background.
- Before any location is stored, it is fuzzed to roughly three decimal places — an area of streets, not an address.
- Rounded location is used to build your nearby feed (about 10 miles, widening to about 20 when there is little activity) and to tag new posts with an approximate area.
- Your location is never displayed on a map and is never shown to other users as coordinates.
- You can turn location off in your device settings. Without it, the nearby feed is limited or unavailable; the global feed still works.
6. Ads
Free accounts see house ads — our own promotions — roughly once every five to ten posts. There is no third-party ad network andno advertising SDK or ad tracking in the app. LetsNow Pro removes ads.
7. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers we use to run LetsNow, and only as needed for them to provide their service to us:
- Supabase — database, authentication, file storage, and hosting.
- Expo — push-notification delivery and app builds. Push messages are then carried by Apple and Google’s push transport.
- Stripe — subscription payments for LetsNow Pro.
- Apple and Google — app distribution (TestFlight and the app stores) and push transport.
We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or LetsNow. If LetsNow is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
We do not make any certification, data-processing-agreement, or sub-processor guarantee beyond what is stated here.
8. How long we keep it
- Free-tier posts are automatically deleted about 30 days after they are created, unless a paying subscriber “saves” the post by replying to or voting on it, in which case it is kept while it stays relevant.
- Replies and votes are kept while the content they relate to exists.
- Account information (email, alias, subscription status, push token) is kept while your account is active and is deleted when you delete your account, except as noted below.
- Reports and moderation records (including ban history) are kept longer than your other data so we can keep the community safe, detect repeat abuse, and comply with the law.
- Minimal financial records related to subscriptions may be retained as required by tax and accounting law.
- Backups. Residual copies of deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days, after which they are overwritten.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your account and personal information.
- Export a copy of your information in a portable format.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Withdraw consent for location or push notifications (turn them off in your device settings).
- Complain to your local data protection authority.
To exercise these rights, use the tools in Settings in the app, or email letsnow@omniweb.tech from your account email address. We may need to verify your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
10. Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app at Settings → Delete account(type-to-confirm). This permanently deletes your account and your posts, replies, and votes. If you cannot access the app, emailletsnow@omniweb.tech from your account email to request deletion. Full details, and what is retained for safety and legal reasons, are on the account deletion page.
11. Children
LetsNow is for people 17 and older. It is not directed to children. At sign-up you must confirm you are 17 or older and accept the Terms and this Privacy Policy; we record that you did. If we learn that someone under 17 has created an account, we will remove it.
12. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and the security features of our service providers. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Where we operate
LetsNow is currently offered only in the United States, and its data is hosted in the United States (Oregon). Payments are processed by Stripe, and push notifications are delivered through Expo, both in the United States. If we make LetsNow available in other regions, we will update this policy first, including any cross-border transfer safeguards that then apply.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date above, and for material changes we will give notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use LetsNow after a change means you accept the updated policy.
